Lafferty wasn’t much understood or appreciated in 1990. I thought I’d share this because every single entry could spark hours of conversation. There is a fair amount of old TV Guide–style laziness and idiocy on display (“this author who virtually demands to be read in an Irish accent”). I enjoyed learning from Brian Stableford and was saddened when he died not long ago, maybe the one that hit me hardest along with Barry N. Malzberg. Glad to see that Stableford is in good form on Apocalypses. Consider the following a test.
